Women’s Cooperatives & Savings Groups

The Women’s Cooperatives & Savings Groups initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a transformative component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, dedicated to promoting financial independence, economic inclusion, and collective empowerment among women in underserved communities, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that access to financial resources, support networks, and economic opportunities is essential for women to achieve stability, self-reliance, and meaningful participation in community development, our approach focuses on establishing and strengthening community-based women’s cooperatives and savings groups that encourage collaboration, shared growth, and sustainable income generation, through targeted training programmes on cooperative management, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and collective savings practices, we equip women with the knowledge and skills needed to manage resources effectively, build sustainable enterprises, and strengthen their economic resilience, in addition, we facilitate access to microloans and revolving funds that support women-led businesses and community projects, enabling beneficiaries to expand opportunities for themselves and their families, our goal is to support over 500 women’s cooperatives within the next five years, directly benefiting more than 10,000 women and families while fostering stronger communities, improved livelihoods, and long-term economic empowerment.

Economic Empowerment & Microenterprise Support

The Economic Empowerment & Microenterprise Support initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a key component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, focused on equipping women with the resources, skills, and opportunities needed to achieve financial independence and sustainable economic growth, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that empowering women economically not only transforms individual lives but also strengthens families, communities, and local economies, our approach emphasizes entrepreneurship development, practical skills acquisition, and long-term business support through the provision of small business grants, startup kits, mentorship programmes, and vocational and digital training opportunities tailored to the needs of women in both urban and rural communities, we provide training in areas such as tailoring, craft-making, agriculture, information and communication technology, trade, and other income-generating skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurial potential, in addition, we collaborate with private sector organizations and industry partners to create market access and supply chain opportunities for women-owned enterprises, helping beneficiaries expand their businesses and achieve sustainable growth, our goal is to train over 5,000 women entrepreneurs and support at least 2,000 women in starting or expanding sustainable businesses, thereby fostering economic inclusion, reducing poverty, and promoting long-term empowerment for women and their communities.

Leadership & Advocacy for Gender Equality

The Leadership & Advocacy for Gender Equality initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a strategic component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, dedicated to promoting inclusive leadership, advancing women’s rights, and fostering a society where equality, dignity, and justice are upheld for all, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that empowering women to participate actively in leadership, governance, and decision-making processes is essential for achieving sustainable development and balanced community progress, our approach focuses on building confidence, strengthening leadership capacity, and creating platforms where women can develop the skills and knowledge needed to influence positive change within their communities and beyond, through leadership development workshops, mentorship opportunities, and advocacy programmes, we prepare women to take on leadership roles while encouraging civic participation and community engagement, in addition, we support campaigns that promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and address issues such as gender-based violence and discrimination, while also collaborating with traditional and religious leaders to encourage more inclusive and gender-sensitive social norms, our goal is to empower over 1,000 women leaders and advocate for policies and systems that protect and promote the rights, safety, and advancement of women at all levels of society.

Education & Skill Development for Girls

The Education & Skill Development for Girls initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a vital component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, dedicated to expanding access to quality education, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities for girls and young women, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that educating girls is one of the most powerful investments in sustainable development, community progress, and generational transformation, yet many girls continue to face barriers such as poverty, discrimination, limited resources, and social challenges that hinder their educational journey, our approach focuses on removing these barriers and creating supportive environments where girls can learn, grow, and achieve their full potential through scholarships, educational support, mentorship programmes, and life skills development initiatives, in partnership with schools and community stakeholders, we establish girls’ clubs and educational platforms that promote leadership, health awareness, confidence building, and personal development while also encouraging participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to help bridge the gender gap in innovation and technology-related fields, our goal is to enroll at least 1,500 girls annually in mentorship and scholarship programmes that ensure continued access to quality education, empowering them with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to become future leaders, innovators, and positive contributors to society.

Health & Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention

The Health & Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a critical component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, dedicated to protecting the health, dignity, safety, and rights of women and girls while promoting safer and more inclusive communities, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that gender-based violence, abuse, and unequal access to healthcare continue to threaten the wellbeing and future of millions of women and girls, limiting their ability to live freely, safely, and with confidence, our approach focuses on prevention, protection, support, and awareness through the establishment of safe spaces where survivors of abuse can access counseling, legal aid, psychosocial support, and referral services in a compassionate and secure environment, in addition, we conduct community sensitization programmes that raise awareness on domestic violence, reproductive health, women’s rights, and the importance of gender equality, while encouraging positive behavioral and cultural change within communities, we also collaborate with healthcare providers and relevant stakeholders to deliver reproductive, maternal, and adolescent health services that improve access to quality care and promote overall wellbeing for women and girls, our goal is to provide gender-based violence prevention and response services to at least 20,000 women and girls annually, helping to create safer communities where women and girls are protected, empowered, and able to thrive with dignity and confidence.

Partnerships & Policy Engagement

The Partnerships & Policy Engagement initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a strategic component of our Education & Youth Empowerment Programme, focused on creating meaningful collaborations and supportive systems that expand opportunities for young people and strengthen their pathways toward personal and professional success, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that sustainable youth development requires collective action involving schools, professionals, institutions, industries, and community stakeholders working together to empower the next generation, our approach emphasizes mentorship, career guidance, and strategic engagement through regular counseling sessions, mentorship networks, and interactive platforms that help young people identify their strengths, explore career pathways, and develop the confidence needed to pursue their goals, by connecting youth with experienced mentors and professionals across various industries, we provide valuable guidance, inspiration, and practical exposure that supports informed decision-making and long-term growth, in addition, we organize job fairs, entrepreneurship forums, networking events, and engagement programmes that create direct access to opportunities, partnerships, and professional connections, through these efforts, the initiative fosters collaboration, innovation, and youth inclusion while preparing young people to become capable leaders, skilled professionals, and active contributors to economic and social development.

Advocacy for Inclusive Education

The Advocacy for Inclusive Education initiative of Dorion Charity Foundation is a strategic component of our Women & Gender Empowerment Programme, dedicated to advancing equality, inclusion, and fair access to opportunities through policy engagement, community collaboration, and social advocacy, guided by our principle of Humanity First, this initiative recognizes that achieving lasting gender equality requires not only direct empowerment programmes but also the transformation of systems, policies, and societal attitudes that influence access to education, leadership, employment, and resources, our approach focuses on building strong partnerships with governments, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, and women’s networks to promote gender mainstreaming and inclusive development policies that support equal participation and representation for women and marginalized groups, in addition, we engage men and boys through educational campaigns and dialogue sessions that encourage shared responsibility, respect, and positive masculinity, fostering healthier and more inclusive communities, we also advocate for equitable labor rights, inclusive governance, and improved access to opportunities and resources for women and girls, ensuring that their voices and needs are reflected in decision-making processes at all levels, our goal is to contribute to the influence and advancement of at least 10 national and local policies that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment within the next five years, helping to create a more just, inclusive, and equitable society for all.
